Is Luke Kornet ready for prime time?

Post by mathguy »

Celtics just shipped off Robert Williams III to get Jrue Holiday.

As near as I can figure, unless the Celtics bring in a new post player this puts Luke as the primary backup to the oft-injured Porzingas (depending on how you want to count 37-year old Al Horfords forward/center minutes).

Even at that between an injury prone Porzingas and a 37-year old who doesn't play back to backs, you gotta think Luke's number is getting called a bit more.

Yes, he is a solid veteran backup. A "moneyball" special at that, as he doesn't make absurd $$.

60% from the field for his NBA career. 77% at the FT line.
