Vanderbilt at Miami (12-4-24) 4 p.m. (ACC Network)
This is what should be our biggest remaining challenge before conference play starts. It’s a Quad 2 game on the road against an unbeaten Miami team that is talented and athletic. So are we. It’s our last game before exam break.
The Hurricanes feature the Cavinder twins, who gained a lot of notoriety being among the first women’s basketball players to cash in on NIL. Some think of them as just pretty little social media divas, but, in truth, they’re tough, and one of them, Haley, is an outstanding talent. I think we have a combo of guards (Blakes, Greene, Kapinus and Nwaba) to hound her defensively. Slow her down, and you have a great chance against them.
The Canes also feature 6’5 post Nat Marshall, who was the starting post player down the stretch at Notre Dame last year. She transferred for her grad season, and Vandy was in contact with her during the process, but she chose Miami. She’s not a banger but is very athletic and has some skills.
Vandy is a slight favorite. I think a lot comes down to whether Khamil Pierre plays and, if so, if she is at full speed. I am excited, and, as is my wont, a bit nervous about this one.

Posting this shoot around video because it has a couple of brief glimpses of Khamil taking part. She appears to be moving fine.

Sorry i'm late to the party. Standing out in my yard. "Wed: ballgame" "IT'S AT 4! IT's AT 4!" Blakes is the leading freshman scorer in the nation? I had no idea.

Up 15 good defense and hot shooting. We appear more athletic and talented, but long way to go. They will make a run.
