Coach Lea at SEC Media Days (Dallas, TX) July 15-- the most interesting of the Lea era?

Post by BrentVU »

SEC Media Days are in Dallas this year, July 15-18. 16 coaches will take the stand, including Brent Venables and Steve Sarkisian. So will new coaches Kalen DeBoer, Mike Elko, and Jeff Lebby. That alone should make it fascinating.

But it should also be the most fascinating Q&A period yet for Coach Lea, who will speak on Monday and who is on a bit of a hot seat. What questions would you ask him? Here are a few of mine...

1. In Year One, you talked about building a "developmental program" focused on developing young recruits, and mostly ignoring the portal. But this past off-season you've brought in 25 guys through the portal. What changed? Do you now think your initial approach was flawed?

2. You've also been big on developing team chemistry and a shared team ethic. Are you worried that bringing in this many new players through the portal will harm the chemistry you've tried so hard to build?

3. How has having a presence like Coach Jerry Kill on your staff changed the way you prepare for the season, and how do you think it will change game-week preparation?

4. Your offense is going to have a whole new look, from a new coordinator to a new QB to new players at almost all of the skill positions. What can we expect?
