He does appear to be high maintenance, and if that bothers CMB so he takes a pass ... then I'm glad to take a pass too.

But while he appears to be high maintenance, I haven't seen anything suggesting he's a team killer or an absolute jerk so ... sure. I have not problems if he returns.
Since Belmont's top players have all left, maybe the players are not the problem.

Yes, one went to Florida and one went to Iowa that other time plus the three that just left, so they are moving up. However, if they loved Coach Alexander and Belmont and the MVC so much, wouldn't some of them have stayed put?

Sadly, when the difference might be $40k vs. $600k, no, they wouldn't have (if they had the chance to move up).

That said, what I don't know about the Belmont Men's Basketball Program could fill an entire book titled "Belmont Men's Basketball For Dummies", so I can't comment on their coaching situation.

This is an ongoing issue for strong mid-major programs - those whose coaches aren't poached have their players poached (some unfortunate programs like Indiana State have both). At this point Mid majors are punished for success.

In other words, it is difficult to read into high turnover at the mid-major level, since it is pretty much happening everywhere. It has been proven that good mid-major players are likely to be good high-major players.

This is why the idea that our program is the hardest place to coach at is laughably off. Even good mid majors are experiencing much worse turnover than we are and to their best players.

Probably not a big loss but wonder if we went hard at him. We’ll never know of course

We'll not miss him. I watched him play for two years. In playground parlance, he's a ball hog.

watching his scouting video he has some decent post moves but did not exhibit high level athleticism. Decent shot but very set - little lift off of it and not great accuracy.

He looks like a player who can be pretty good if you can play team ball, but I'd be surprised if he did much at the next level. He has good size but not great size and his athleticism is nothing special compared to those in the league.

He'll probably go for 40 against us this year. :(

He took between 12 and 18 shots in 22 games last season.

I would have to go back and check but it seems like Belmont lost maybe 10 of those games?

He'll score 40 in an SEC game if the coach lets him shoot the ball 35 times.

For a more detailed statistical analysis on that theory, take it away Jason.....
