VU's first scrimmage of spring takes place Saturday on the Lipscomb Academy field... I'm pretty sure this is the first time the football team has ever set foot on the Lipscomb campus. This is the field, however, on which WR Junior Sherrill scored a bunch of TDs and LB Bryan Longwell made tons of tackles in leading the Mustangs to back-to-back state championships under Trent Dilfer. And it's perhaps a nod to the Lipscomb program, which features excellent facilities as well as a slew of FBS prospects... hopefully, some of them will be in attendance.
Not sure if this scrimmage is officially open or closed, but I'm pretty sure that fans who want to watch it should be able to find a vantage point.
