She visited Vandy last year. Has played summer ball with Leah Macy, a big Vandy target who committed to Notre Dame a few weeks ago. Byars has been out with an injury this summer. She’s kind of a quintessential wing in the college game. Handles well and shoots it well enough from distance to play the three and is strong enough to play the four.

Byars made an official visit to Cal over the weekend. Not sure if/when a Vandy visit might happen. We still have those three offers hanging out there to recruits who put us on their finalist lists.

That scar on her right knee makes me hope that she makes a complete recovery from the injury and fulfills her dream to play professionally; however I also hope she realizes the value of a top notch education on which she can rely if playing pro doesn't materialize.
This is coming from someone with an even larger scar on his knee.

Wise words dorpleganger. She tore her ACL back in the spring and missed the AAU summer season. She did show some wisdom, saying that she would take her time choosing a school and would make extra visits since she couldn't play this summer. As you can see, she has a strong body. She also has the ball handling and three-level shooting skills to play the 3 or 4 position in college. I know she has visited Vandy at least once, maybe more.
