Well Doug Weikert (doc) and his son, Drew (law school). Festus had med school aspirations until he turned out to be great at basketball. I had a few other doc/lawyers in mind but I've now forgotten them. Your point is well taken, though, in the current climate.

Sadly, the academics don't matter to MOST of the players. It does to some, but it is slipping down the list as athletes now go to 3 or more schools before graduating (if they do graduate...)

I think Vanderbilt is being fair and strategic with the NIL money. While I, too, hated to see Edwards (especially) and Carey go, it's the way things are now.
