Re: McGlockton officially withdraws from the NBA draft
Didn't even know he was testing the waters. This seems like an obvious choice though. Glock is almost the textbook definition of a "tweener" in the NBA. If Broome from Auburn is being projected in the second round, I certainly don't see how Glock fairs any better. But I'll be thrilled for...

Re: Transfer commit: Duke Miles, Oklahoma
DeWayne Brown is a product of Hoover High School. I've seen him play 20-25 times and he is the real deal. Hard to compare high school performance vs. anticipated college performance, but I'll go on record that before he graduates from college he will have played more minutes and made more of an imp...

Re: Luke Kornet
Kornet's 7 blocks tied him with Robert Parish and Kendrick Perkins for second most blocks in a Celtics playoff game. https://twitter.com/celtics/status/1922857099962581444 It is awesome seeing how much he's developed and grown since he was a rail thin freshman thrown into the rotation due to Josh H...

Re: Transfer commit: Duke Miles, Oklahoma
I agree, Barnes won’t tolerate attitudes. Coach Byington tried benching and limiting playing time, but that approach appears to have been futile. I kinda doubt VU was all that aggressive in trying to keep him. I'm not sure that he tried to limit playing time, it is just that there were games that h...

Re: Transfer commit: Duke Miles, Oklahoma
I was also under the impression that Okpara was returning. I don't know that Carey is going to start over him so I assume if he does start they would move him to PF? Yep. Article tabs Carey at the 4 and Okpara at the 5. Have to figure there’d be some obvious interchangeability in their sets, but I’...

Re: Transfer commit: Duke Miles, Oklahoma
The one attribute Carey brought last season is toughness. He plays with passion and a high motor. He lacked IQ and overestimated his guard skills at times. I believe his replacements could be a slight improvement, except of course when he comes back to Memorial and has the best game of his career. ...

Re: Transfer commit: Duke Miles, Oklahoma
This article from RockyTop insider pleases me. It notes how uut reached out to Miles before he landed at VU. Also goes on to state that one On3 analyst projects Jaylen Carey to start. Now, no disrespect to Carey: he’s a fine player and I was disappointed to see him defect. However, he is clearly no...

Re: Strengths and Weaknesses
I can’t see Tanner starting unless he gets bigger and stronger. There is a lot of experience on this roster and he needs to improve his shooting in order to secure his spot. No one has been a bigger supporter of Tanner since he signed than I, but, he may be a better spark off the bench than in a st...

Re: Duke Miles Scout
Barring injury disasters and if the brackets shake out decently... The official bhoyal way-too-soon prediction is in: FINAL EIGHT I'm surprised to say that I don't think you are being that crazy. That is probably a realistic ceiling for this team. People bitched about my prediction for last season ...

Strengths and Weaknesses
These strengths and weaknesses are what I would consider to be relative to the team as opposed to absolute to all teams for the most part, as in these are the areas where we are most and least strong. Strength #1 - Depth. This is the deepest team I've seen in a long while. Here is a quick guess at a...
