He also said that we could fund an entire non-revenue team (tennis, golf, bowling perhaps?) with $50,000.
This is why the NCAA needs some kind of profit-sharing model to cap individual awards and spread the wealth to ALL the student-athletes.

Re: SEC schedule announced
Based on today’s review of a former topic, it appears as though I am up next. Being that I was privy to the full non-conference schedule before most, I saw two potential losses non-conference (Miami in Charleston if we drew them and TCU on the road). Best case scenario would be a split. We split . ...

Who is the clown …
… that ranked Vanderbilt #25 in last week’s AP Poll for our only vote and then this week — after our two best wins of the season (one as visitor and the other a semi-away game) — did not vote for the ‘Dores at all? I know, NET Rating #52, but it was worse last week when you voted for us. Meanwhile, ...

I had suggested early in the season ...
... that Taylor get some use on kickoffs and Faris get some use kicking extra points or field goals. Keep both fresh and experienced in game action for both kickoffs and place kicks in case the other gets hurt. Apparently, Coach Lea only listened to the first part of my suggestion and Faris spent th...

Re: SEC Strength
It is arguable, but our loss to Drake on a Neutral floor is probably the 2nd worst loss in the entire conference, and it isn't a bad loss. Drake is still undefeated after beating Valpo this week and ranked #32/#31 in last week’s polls. Also, #43 in the NET. Let’s hope Drake doesn’t falter versus St...

Re: Birmingham Bowl ranked as the 10th best matchup by Yahoo Sports (6th excluding the playoffs)
This CBSSports article also lists the Birmingham Bowl as the 10th best bowl game, FOURTH after 4 quarter-final games and 2 semi-final games. It’s an interesting matchup of styles, some over-achieving individuals, and two teams from major conferences that have not had a lot of success recently. https...

Re: Yes, Alabama would be favored to beat SMU, Indiana and Boise State
The ASU and Boise St byes, however, are ridiculous. If you can’t win your own conference, it’s difficult to claim you have a right to play for a championship. And with 12 teams, somebody has to get a Bye. 3-loss Clemson did not deserve one. Why not make it a 16-team field and invite all 9 or 10 FBS...

Tanner doesn’t show up on the NCAA …
… Asst/Turnover ratio leaders. I’m guessing that qualifiers must have a minimum of 3 assists per game. https://www.ncaa.com/stats/basketball-men/d1 #1 at this point is Josh Hubbard of Mississippi Srate (28/2) in 8 games. Tanner is at 20/0 in 10 games. But I submit that STEALS/TO is a more telling st...

Re: Florida and Tulane to the Gasparilla Bowl
We don’t even know what teams are playing, yet I can buy tickets to the Gasparilla Bowl on seatgeek for $83-$500 + fees.
Better to get my tickets through Vanderbilt… once the invitation is made.
