Re: giving Stack benefit of the doubt...

Aspartame and other fake sugars are not good for you. I truly hope you win the Powerball. Then you can give a huge donation to the athletic department and influence the hiring of the next coach. I did ask a question... "when did the previous coach ever step up like a man to accept blame for hi...

Re: The official "who would be a good next coach" thread.

I still prefer Shaka Smart.....young, energetic, recruits well, coaches well.....been at Marq since 2021 Everyone keeps throwing his name around, but he looks like he is very comfortable at Marquette. He is from there and already came south once to see if he could make it. He comes across to me as ...

Re: giving Stack benefit of the doubt...

Why do you keep bringing up Bryce Drew? It never fails. He is a distant memory. And, of course, it is baseball season so you already have back door criticized Baxter and alluded to Corbin retiring. What's your goal? Drew is NOT off limits. Can you simply answer the question without changing the sub...

Feb. 2023 - in "The Atlantic" (Rexrode) - Took the blame for misses in recruiting.

(when did the previous coach, aka mister 0-19, ever go public with blaming himself?)

Re: The official "who would be a good next coach" thread.

I'm just going to keep banging the drum on Pat Kelsey at College of Charleston. They guy is 48 years old. He was head coach at Winthrop from 2012 to 2021 where he had a win % of .662. He went to 2 NCAA tournaments (should have been 3 due to COVID year). He is in his third season at C of C, went to ...

Re: giving Stack benefit of the doubt...

Vandy's academics obviously limits who we can recruit, but I'm not sure this holds. While Vandy has gotten more academically selective over the past 15 years, I'm not sure that Vandy athletics has followed suit. I mean, obviously this is still the school whose admissions office rejected Ron Mercer ...

Re: The official "who would be a good next coach" thread.

I agree that any serious candidate would have to present a "blueprint" to change things like poach franklin did. Poach was ready to step up. I don't think some our past coaches had such a plan. It seems like they were simply hoping against hope things would go well. (clap-clap) Coaches who...

Re: The official "who would be a good next coach" thread.

Maybe overlooked in all this is that James Strong spent six years on Vanderbilt's staff under Kevin Stallings, five years as an assistant at Furman and eight years as an assistant at Belmont. His recent association with Stack shouldn't keep him from consideration. No, but his lack of head coaching ...

Re: giving Stack benefit of the doubt...

Northwestern had zero basketball tradition and never made the tournament until 2017 (ugh). They bottomed out after that, again, but now are on the verge of making the tourney for the second consecutive season. Why? What do they have that we don't? Or is that Vanderbilt's future even in the most opt...

Re: giving Stack benefit of the doubt...

Vanderbilt has risen in the academic standings, too, and there is the issue of the recruits being qualified academically. Vandy's academics obviously limits who we can recruit, but I'm not sure this holds. While Vandy has gotten more academically selective over the past 15 years, I'm not sure that ...
